On the 22nd of Jestha, 2080 (June 5, 2023), the Women Empowerment Centre, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Kirtipur, DE NI, Rotaract Club of Kirtipur, and Tewa, successfully organized a tree plantation program at Manjushree Park, located in Ward No. 6 of Kirtipur Municipality. The event was attended by 47 guests representing various organizations and institutions. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest, Mr. Khirman Basnet, Ward Chairperson of Kirtipur Ward No. 6,
who planted the first tree. During the event, all attendees participated in planting various species of fruit-bearing trees. The main objective of the program was to transform the park into a Food Forest/Analog Forest while also contributing to soil conservation in the area. A total of 50 saplings were planted on that day. This tree plantation program supports SDG 13 (Climate Action) by promoting environmental sustainability, SDG 15 (Life on Land) through soil conservation and biodiversity enhancement, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration among local organizations and communities.
