Tewa – Women’s Fund in Nepal

About the Organization
TEWA is Nepal’s first women’s fund, established to empower women, girls, intersex, and trans people and promote gender equity across Nepal. The organization focuses on community philanthropy, capacity building, movement building, advocacy, networking, and partnerships that strengthen women‑led initiatives and support grassroots organizations working for social justice and equitable development. TEWA promotes feminist values, self‑reliance, and sustainable change at the community level.

How They Supported Us
TEWA collaborated with Women Empowerment Centre (WEC) across several key initiatives, including:

  • Analog Forest Project

  • Banana Fiber Training

  • Tree Plantation Activities

  • Organizational Development Support

Their involvement provided technical guidance, capacity building, and strategic support to advance community‑led environmental action and organizational sustainability.

Impact of the Support
With support from TEWA, WEC was able to:

  • Strengthen implementation and understanding of sustainable and nature‑based livelihood practices

  • Enhance skills for banana fiber processing and utilization

  • Support impactful tree plantation and environmental restoration efforts

  • Build organizational capacity and promote long‑term resilience
