About the Organization
GAGGA (Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action) is an international alliance that supports gender-just climate solutions by strengthening women’s leadership and feminist movements in climate action. The alliance works to amplify grassroots initiatives and ensure that climate responses are inclusive, equitable, and rights-based.
How They Supported Us
GAGGA supported Women Empowerment Centre (WEC) through the development of a Case Study on the Manjushree Analog Forest Project. The case study highlighted community-led, gender-responsive, and nature-based climate solutions implemented at the local level.
The case study was showcased at COP 2024 (UNFCCC COP29) held in Baku, Azerbaijan, bringing international visibility to local climate action from Nepal.
Impact of the Support
With the support of GAGGA, WEC was able to:

Document and showcase the Manjushree Analog Forest Project at a global platform
-
Amplify women-led and community-based climate initiatives
-
Share local climate solutions with international stakeholders and policymakers
