CROCHET TRAINING

The crochet training was part of the Women Empowerment Centre’s
action plan and was conducted by Miss Anu Manandhar over a six
month period. Initiated on December 19, 2022, the training aimed to
equip women with practical skills for income generation. A total of seven
women participated in the training, which not only provided them with the
skill of crocheting but also helped enhance their financial independence
and self-respect. WEC also facilitated employment opportunities for the
participants, ensuring they could apply their new skills meaningfully. It
contributes to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by empowering women with
hands-on skills that promote self-reliance and confidence. It also aligns
with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by enabling income
generating opportunities. Additionally, by focusing on sustainable,
handmade production methods, it supports SDG 12 (Responsible
Consumption and Production) through the promotion of eco-friendly
practices in handicrafts
