Jiya Rai: Crafting a Path to Empowerment and Inspiration
I am Jiya Rai, originally from Khotang and currently residing in Kirtipur Municipality, Ward No. 10. I am a proud trainee of the six-month skill development and handicraft bag-making training organized by the Women Empowerment Training Centre.
Initially, I had no knowledge about this organization. During a visit to fill out the application form for a financial literacy training organized by the Centre, I learned about the six-month bag-making training. This opportunity piqued my interest and became a turning point in my journey.
Before joining this program, I was engaged in creating velvet and Dhaka fabric shoes and sandals, offering training in this craft, and fulfilling custom orders. However, after enrolling in the bag-making training, I’ve gained the skills to create bags in various designs and styles, adding a new dimension to my expertise.
I feel immense pride in my progress and am deeply grateful to the Centre and the dedicated trainers who have supported my learning journey. Their guidance and encouragement have been invaluable. Beyond just bag-making, I’ve had the privilege of participating in additional sessions on yoga, meditation, public speaking, and institutional development, all of which have enriched my personal and professional growth.
Looking ahead, I am determined to stay connected with the Women Empowerment Training Centre and share my skills with women from various walks of life. My goal is to inspire and empower them to build their own paths towards independence and success.
This journey has not only transformed my life but has also ignited a passion to uplift others. Together, we can craft a future of empowerment, one skill and one story at a time. Thank you!
